A new course for electricians has been implemented. This is an exert from the Office of Technical Regulator dated 12th December 2005.
‘The Technical Regulator considers that in order to ensure that appropriately high standards of training are maintained, the following course criteria must – as a minimum - be adopted when establishing and presenting a Rescue and Resuscitation Training Course to meet the requirements of the Electricity (General) Regulations.’
This course is required for electricians and those that work closely with them.

Competency based with formal practical and theoretical assessment.
Certification Validity
Two years
CPR (2 hours) component must be renewed annually.

This course is accredited by the Office of the Technical Regulator (OTR) and adheres to the legislative requirements stated below:
Regulation 29 of the Electricity (General) Regulations 1997 requires:
“Persons required to carry out, or help in carrying out, electrical work must be suitably trained in rescue and resuscitation in accordance with recognised practices in the electricity industry.”
